Nurtured Beginnings Doulas (“we”, “us”) provides postpartum doula and newborn care services to families in New York and Connecticut. This policy explains what information we collect through this website (nurturedbeginningsdoulas.com), how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain on purpose — if anything is unclear, just ask us.
Information you give us
When you fill out our consultation form, we collect:
- your first and last name, phone number and email address;
- your estimated due date and whether you are expecting one baby, twins or triplets;
- the kind of support you are looking for, and whether you plan to use a Carrot benefit;
- if you choose to tell us, how you heard about us and the name of the person who referred you (we use it only to understand how families find us and to thank the person who referred you);
- if you choose a time for your free call, the date and time you pick. We email you a confirmation with a calendar invite and a private link to change or cancel it, and we tell our team so we can call you.
When you request our free guides, we collect your first and last name, email address, phone number and estimated due date (or your baby’s birth date), and your agreement to be contacted. We email you a private link to the guides. When you first click it, we record that your email address is confirmed. We also keep the date, the page you came from and a one-way scrambled form of your IP address (not the address itself) to prevent abuse. Requesting a guide does not book a consultation, but our team may follow up about postpartum care, and you can ask us to stop at any time.
If you call, text or email us, we receive the information you choose to share in that conversation.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, ours automatically receives basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and the website or ad that brought you here. We use the following tools, which place cookies or similar technologies in your browser:
- Google Analytics — to understand how visitors use the site;
- Google Ads — to measure whether our ads lead to consultation requests and to show our ads to people who may be interested;
- Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) — for the same purposes on Meta’s platforms.
When you submit the form, these tools are only told that a consultation request happened. We never send them your name, contact details, due date or any other answer from the form.
Information related to your pregnancy
Your due date and the details of the support you need relate to your pregnancy and your family. We treat this information as sensitive: we use it only to respond to you and to plan your care, never for advertising, and we never share it with advertising platforms.
How we use your information
- to reply to your consultation request and schedule your free call;
- to plan, provide and coordinate our services if you become a client;
- to provide invoices and receipts — for example, so you can request reimbursement through your Carrot benefit;
- to measure and improve our website and advertising;
- to keep our website and records secure, and to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We use your phone number and email to communicate with you about your inquiry and our services. We do not send marketing text messages without your consent.
How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run our business, and only as needed for them to do that work:
- our website hosting provider and our secure database provider (Supabase), where form requests are stored;
- our email provider (Resend), which delivers form notifications and messages to our team;
- Google and Meta, for the analytics and advertising measurement described above (technical and browsing information only).
We do not share your information with Carrot or your employer — if you use a Carrot benefit, you submit your receipts yourself. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our clients, our team or others.
Your choices
- Advertising: you can limit personalized ads in your Google ad settings and your Meta ad preferences, and opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Cookies: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work.
- Messages: every marketing email has an “Unsubscribe” link, or you can tell us at hello@nbdoulas.com, and we will stop emailing you about our services. We do not send marketing text messages.
- Your information: you can ask us to show you, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing hello@nbdoulas.com. We will respond within 45 days. Some records may need to be kept for legal, tax or accounting reasons; if so, we will tell you.
How long we keep information
We keep your information for as long as we need it to respond to your inquiry, provide our services and meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete an inquiry at any time.
How we protect information
Information sent through this website is encrypted in transit. Form requests are stored in a secure database that only our administrators can access, and we limit access to client information to the people who need it to provide your care. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Children
Our website is intended for parents and caregivers. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them online.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
